      Bixby Marsh Tour

      Tour of our Neighbor - the 17-acre Bixby Marshland

      The Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County maintain the 17-acre Bixby Marshland. The Marshland is located in the City of Carson, just east of the 110 Freeway and South of Sepulveda Blvd. This urban jewel is a freshwater habitat containing a diverse group of native plants and animals. The marshland has trails, informational signs, and shade structures. Docents are available for guided tours
      as well!

      Bixby Marshland is home to a variety of flora and fauna:
      • 110 plant species including, 73 that are native.
      • 69 bird species, including ducks, herons, egrets, coots, hummingbirds and more.
      • 84 wildlife species, including Baja California treefrogs, common side-blotched lizards, western fence lizards, painted turtles, and many birds.
